- When booking or registering on our site, or when communicating with us, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, postal address, phone number, ID document details, or other personal details to help process your reservation.
- When you call us directly or send a message, we may collect the information you provide for reservation and support purposes.
- During your stay, we may collect additional data such as check-in/check-out times, guest preferences, and correspondence.
- In some properties, images may be collected through surveillance cameras (see section 5).
- Some environmental data such as indoor temperature, humidity, and thermostat usage patterns may be collected in properties where digital thermostats are used, solely for climate control and comfort purposes.

We collect information when you:
- Make a reservation via our website or third-party booking platforms
- Send us a request via contact form, email, phone call, or messaging services

- Provide guest check-in details or sign our guest agreement

4. How Do We Protect Visitor Information?
Your personal information is stored on secure systems and is accessible only by authorized personnel who are required to maintain confidentiality.
All payment data is processed via secure third-party gateways. We do not store or process credit card data on our servers.
5. Surveillance and Monitoring (if applicable)
Video Surveillance and Personal Data Processing
Some properties under this agreement are equipped with clearly visible video surveillance cameras installed in exterior areas and common spaces of the property, excluding at all times bedrooms, bathrooms, rest areas, and any other private zones where privacy would be expected. These cameras are used exclusively to ensure the safety of persons, property, and facilities; to monitor compliance with house rules established in the rental agreement (including occupancy limits and maximum capacity); and, where applicable, for employment monitoring of staff and service providers, in accordance with applicable regulations.
The property owner acts as the data controller for personal data (images) captured by the video surveillance system. The legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the controller in protecting the property and, where applicable, fulfilling legal and contractual obligations.
Personal data may be processed by third-party data processors, such as Els Majordoms, S.L., exclusively for the purposes stated above and under a contract that guarantees the confidentiality and security of the data.
Images will be retained for a maximum period of one month from capture, unless they must be made available to authorities due to the commission of a crime or administrative offence.
Access to the images is restricted solely to authorized persons, who are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
Affected parties are informed of the existence of information signs at the entrances to video-monitored areas. Data subjects may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability by contacting recepcio@elsmajordoms.com.

Other Monitoring Systems
Some properties may also be equipped with:
- Noise monitoring sensors, which do not record conversations but measure decibel levels to help enforce quiet hours.
- Occupancy monitoring devices, used to estimate the number of people in the property and ensure compliance with maximum occupancy rules.
- Smoke detectors and environmental sensors, used solely for safety and fire prevention purposes.
- Digital thermostats that may collect data on temperature, humidity, and manual interaction for climate management.
These systems are installed to enhance guest safety, protect the property, and ensure respect for house rules. Their presence is clearly stated in the property profile and house guide.
6. Data Protection (GDPR)
Personal data collected during the stay (e.g., contact information, ID, surveillance data if applicable) is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We may also collect personal data through third-party booking platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com) that you use to make a reservation. These platforms are independent data controllers, and their own privacy policies apply.
We use a property management system (Avantio) to store and manage guest data, under a secure data processing agreement.
We are legally required to share guest ID data with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) under applicable laws.
Property owners have access to guest data necessary for the management of the rental. Guests are legally considered clients of the property owner, and this is reflected in the data sharing model.
Internal Data Handling and Communication Tools
We use secure digital tools to organize operations and communicate with guests. These include internal planning systems (e.g., for first names and stay dates), contact management tools (e.g., for guest name, phone number, and arrival date), and messaging applications for customer support.
Access to these tools is limited to authorized staff involved in guest care or reservation management, and all data is handled with appropriate safeguards and confidentiality.
7. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. We may share data with:
- Booking platforms you used to make the reservation
- Technology service providers under contract who help us operate our website and manage bookings
- Law enforcement authorities, when required by law
- Property owners (who are also considered data controllers)
